O'Hanlons Horsebox - Black Eyed Friday
I have the pleasure this Christmas in boarding a plane and flying back to Ireland to spend the festivities with my friends and family. Along with visiting all the auld haunts and visiting, a new tradition of mine that has started has been to get together with my old band O'Hanlons Horsebox and play a show with as many of line up as we can corral.
The night Black Eyed Friday comes from years ago when employers used to give out their paycheque and Christmas bonus on the last Friday before Christmas and give all the employees a half day. This usually would result in everyone heading straight to the pub for an absolute siege of pints and end up scuffling and brawling by the end of the night. Hence the name, Black Eyed Friday.
This year we are playing in a local country pub that is known for it's large patronage of Huntsmen and Horse Racing enthusiasts. This poster was inspired by an old poster form the 60's that I once seen for the Melbourne Cup.
