Christ the Night

A common phrase that gets thrown into conversation back home is “Christ the night”. Often used when one is trying to stress a point, they would punctuate the sentence with the expression. If I would be correct in my colloquial vernacular half baked theories, I believe this is derived from something like “Christ bless us and save us tonight” which would of morphed to “Christ tonight” and then, “Christ the night”.
